Miloš Horák is an elderly alchemist from Prague and an old friend of Hadrian Vent. His interests occupy the uncomfortable territory where chemistry, occult theory, history and centuries of experimental knowledge overlap.
Age has given Miloš considerable experience without curing his curiosity. He approaches unfamiliar phenomena with the enthusiasm of a researcher who would very much like to know what happens next, even when the sensible answer would be to stand further away. Beneath the eccentricity, however, is a serious scholar with little patience for dogma and a willingness to learn from traditions very different from his own.
