When Fergus met Akira Yamaguchi in 1991, she was an unruly Japanese teenager whose temperament compared rather dramatically with that of her more conventional siblings. By 2012 she is a mother of two and the composed head of House Yamaguchi, having learned to carry the responsibilities of family and tradition with considerable discipline.
The change is genuine, but it did not erase the storm of the kitsune inside her. Most people see only the calm and controlled woman Akira has become; the older wildness occasionally emerges around the few friends who knew her before duty taught her restraint. Under particularly favourable circumstances, such as a sufficiently loud metal concert, it may emerge rather more enthusiastically.
